Someone Wants to Say Hello

Zaxby has been wanting attention all day. He does not seem to understand work hours. :)

10 Weeks

We are officially leaving the embryonic period and entering the fetus period! Yay! One milestone down and lots to go. Beany is the size of a kumquat this week. I love that Kellie tried to buy one at the grocery store last weekend.

It is another week of uneventful is good news. We are starting to get excited for the next appointment and the end of the first trimester.

Happy To Be Home

We just made it home. We had a great time at the holiday party and the dinner I worked went well so I would call it a successful week. Other then that, there is not much going on.

Everyone at work knows about the pregnancy now and word spread like wildfire at the holiday party. It will be an early night for me as this week wiped me out.

On a different note, I am excited for a week in the 40s!

9 weeks

Not much to report today. 1 more week before we reach the fetus stage! I have been feeling well besides some fatigue. I am heading down to Atlanta for the rest of the week for a meeting and holiday party. I will try to check in at the end of the week.

This week our bean is about the size of a grape! It is hard to believe how much he/she has grown so quickly!

Long Weekend

We had a great time with Mallory and Derek this weekend. We relaxed, watched a lot of movies, and went out to an awesome dinner Saturday night. We were sad to say good bye to them this morning. I am hoping that Michael and I can make it down to NYC sometime soon.

I am pretty exhausted since we were up really late every night this weekend but it was completely worth it. Thankfully my nausea has really eased up in the last week or so and I have even started getting my appetite back. I have eaten so many clementines this weekend...yum Citrus fruit seems to be my love now.

I have a busy week this week with a trip to Atlanta for a dinner meeting and holiday party. Time to go enjoy the afternoon before gearing up for the week.

8 Weeks

I feel like time is going excruciatingly slow and fast all at the same time. No exciting news to report right now but I would argue that would be a good thing.

I have been feeling good other then some heartburn, little nausea, and being tired. I really have nothing to complain about so far. I hope it stays that way.

According to my weekly updates our Bean is just over a half an inch long now about the size of a raspberry.

Nothing else to report really other then that I am way excited that Mallory and Derek are coming to visit this weekend! Yay!

A Great Quote

Last night Michael and I were relaxing and watching football. I turned to Michael and stated that I really wished I could have a beer and his response was I guess you should not have ovulated then. What do you say back to that!?! I just bust out laughing!

LOL!!!! He always comes up with the best quotes. I am still laughing about it this morning!

My New Friend: Heartburn

So today I got to meet my new friend, heartburn. Keep in mind I have never had heartburn before so I was blissfully unaware of what it felt like. So I was sitting on the couch this morning thinking was going to die when Michael kindly informed me that I had heartburn....great well at least I am not dying. So now I have been munching on Tums today hoping that it will do the trick. Let's hope that this does not become a staple in my life between now and August.

While I was at CVS today I needed to pick up some more prenatal vitamins and of course they were out of the kind that I take. In my true fashion, I had to spend an exorbitant amount of time scrutinizing the vitamins available to ensure I was still getting what I needed. I am a creature of habit and don't like to change what I take.

2.5 more weeks until Beany makes it to the fetus stage!

Featuring the Bean

This afternoon I had my first prenatal appointment. Michael was sweet enough to come with me and sit through all 2 hours of it. We met with the RN and went through our genetic histories and set up the types of genetic testing that we would need. Then the nurse said that since I do a lot of traveling she thought I should have an ultrasound to put my mind at ease. So everyone I present our TINY bean.

Currently our bean is measuring 6 weeks and 6 days which is right on track with a heartbeat of 128 bpm and a length of .8cm. It was amazing to see the flicker of the heartbeat. Everything is looking great.

Then I got to get a wonderful H1N1 and seasonal flu shot. I know I said I would never get one but really who wants to get sick when they are pregnant. Lastly, I had to get a bunch of blood drawn and will have to go back tomorrow to finish it up b/c apparently I am not a enough of a bleeder for 10 vials of blood. So I go back on 2/16 for my next ultrasound and appointment.

Time

I thought I would add that I feel like the weeks will never end. I hope at some point in this pregnancy time will feel like it moves faster. I guess it is just the excitement of this being so new.

Not much going on...and 7 weeks

So Kellie was bugging me to update this so here I go...

We had a quiet New Year's holiday which was great. We saw the ball drop and were asleep 5 minutes later. Lame isn't it. We got 13 inches of snow last weekend so we ended up with a white New Years. Not quite as good as a white Christmas but it is a close second. There has not been to much going on just getting back into the swing of work after the holidays. Mallory and Derek are coming to visit for MLK weekend and we are really looking forward to that. Michael and I are going to my first true doctor's appointment (not just blood work like last time) tomorrow afternoon.

Oh! Beany is the size of a blueberry today! I love my weekly size compared to a fruit or vegetable updates.
