36 weeks/100th post!

4 weeks left, 1 until full term! Can you believe it?!? I sure cannot! I have really slowed down over the last week and I feel like she is REALLY low. This maybe TMI but I feel like my groin muscles are the only thing keeping her from making her grand entrance. I got a lot of work done on her room and getting her stuff organized this week. Our wonderful family and friends have been showering her with gifts and Beany is very very thankful! She told me so! :)

So in general I am pretty uncomfortable these days from her sitting so low and my carpel tunnel has gotten a lot worse so I finally had to break out a wrist brace. It is oh so attractive. It is really starting to feel real since it finally looks like we have a baby moving into the apartment. We are going out this weekend to pick up some of the small things she still needs. Beany...I am hoping to meet you sooner rather then later!

So here are some pictures of her room and a few items from some very special people!

Thank you Mallory and Derek!

Thank you Kellie!

Thank you Mom and Dad!

Here is one just b/c Zaxby is just so darn cute!

Birthing and Newborn Care Class Complete

So we are about a month or two behind the game on this one as most people in our class are due in late September and October, but we completed our two day class today. It was a lot better then I thought it was going to be. It was two long days though. I was excited to find out that the nursery will provide cloth diapers for her while she is in he hospital and we got to practice with them today. I did not even know that was a possibility until this week.

I am not sure if the class made me feel better or more nervous about everything though. We did discover the hospital cafeteria has really good food. LOL It was quite a wake up call when we went through all the possible labor signs that can occur up to a month out and I have already experienced most of them. No wonder we were sent to the hospital last weekend.

Tonight I did some more work on Beany's room and got her clothes all organized. I really need to go out and get her some more newborn/0-3 footie sleepers as she does not have many. Good thing I love to buy clothes for her.

35 Weeks

5 weeks to go, 2 until full term. It is really getting close now. I am starting to swell back up which I am not too thrilled about but I have actually been sleeping better. I am not sure what changed but you wont see me complaining. Our entire weekend is going to be spent at the hospital for childbirth/infant care class. We get our official tour of the maternity ward as well. (By the way I think she dropped this week, you can really see it looking at last weeks photo compared to this one)

I have gotten some more work done on Beany's room and thought I would give a sneak peak but we have a long way to go.

Yay for cute diapers

Beany's prefolds and covers arrived yesterday! I am so happy with how they turned out. The picture is a sampling of her newborn and small size covers. Now I just need to get the prefolds prepped and then we are good to go. I have a sample of a new detergent to try before I start washing everything.

Don't worry...my 35 week update will come tonight. Michael took the picture last night and needs to process the picture. And btw...don't forget to enter my due date pool!

34 Week Doc Appt

So I had my regular scheduled appointment today and it happened to be with my doctor from Saturday which was nice. Beany is doing well and is still head down. She is locked and loaded! :) I call the doc tomorrow to find out if I stay on my antibiotic or not and I found out the UTI irritated my uterus which is what caused all of my cramping. Other then that we are both doing fine and I am off to find a carpel tunnel wrist brace. I hear they are the height of fashion right now.

I go back in two weeks for the start of my weekly appointments and at that appointment I get tested for group B strep and checked for dilation again. Let me tell you how much fun this was this weekend. NOT!

In other news, my very good friend Kara gave birth to her baby girl, Anna Caroline, today! She is beautiful and momma and baby are doing well. Congratulations Kara and Tony! I am dying to be in Boston right now so I could go visit them but I will have to wait until November.

1st trip to Labor and Delivery

Starting last night I was having some abdominal pain off and on. I did really think much about it at the time. Well I woke up in the middle of the night several times with cramps and finally just gave up on sleep at 4am b/c they were so bad. I was thinking that I must have just eaten something bad or something. Well as I was up, they started to come more frequently so 7:30am I decided to give my OB a call. She sent me into labor and delivery to be observed. We had a really nice nurse and got me all hooked up so they could measure Beany's heartbeat and any contractions. Beany was doing fine and I got to have my first internal exam...boy that was fun. But thankfully she is still locked up tight. I was having a few sporadic contractions in addition to my abdominal cramps but they had me down a lot of water under the threat of IV fluids. I did not want an IV if I could help it. So all and all it turns out I have an UTI and that is what was causing everything. So they sent me home with an antibiotic called into the pharmacy and now here we are. I am on the couch and Michael is putting the crib together. I guess it is about time we got to that! LOL

So thankfully all is fine and I should be feeling better by tomorrow and I was happy to have a good experience with this hospital since it is brand new to me.

33/34 weeks

33 Weeks

34 Weeks

okay okay...I know I missed my weekly update last week so I included both photos to this update. Please excuse my crazy hair this week but do you think she will have my curls?? The unpacking has our routine all out of whack. We are making progress though. I had been swelling really bad for the last week or so but it seems to be dong better now. It is never good when your feet swell so much that they feel like they are bruised.

Last weekend we went to Fargo for a Deutsch family reunion and that was fun but extremely exhausting. It was odd realizing we are surrounded by family up here.

I had my first doctor's appointment with my new office on Monday and I love them! Beany and I are doing great. We also had our breastfeeding class that evening at the hospital and that was very informative and helpful. I have another appointment next Monday with the doc and then I get a two week break and then I start my weekly appointments...CRAZY!

I feel like now that the swelling is better it means something else is going to come up. I am going to need to talk to my doctor about pregnancy induced carpel tunnel as I am having problems with my hands going numb especially during the night.

My poor poor feet!

I think my feet have decided they are done being pregnant. They are so swollen and just ache from it now.

This is even a little better since I got to soak them in the pool yesterday and now I sleep with them elevated. I am sure the doc is going to love seeing them when I go on Monday.

Yay for sales!

Babies r us is running a big 4th of July sale and I just ordered the glider for the nursery for 25% off saving us a whooping $100! Sweet! I cannot wait for it to be delivered next week. It is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in. :) I guess my baby shopping moratorium has been officially lifted.

We made it!

We made it to Edina yesterday afternoon and took care of all the paperwork for our new apartment. The moving truck arrives on Monday so we are spending the weekend in a hotel and the cats are staying in the apartment. I think we could all use a little time apart after 3 solid days in the car. All in all the trip was very uneventful but yesterday Pony had enough of being in the car a screamed pretty much the entire 6.5 hour drive. That was not so much fun. I handled being in the car that long much better then I anticipated as well. Thankfully Beany did not play hockey with my bladder much so I was able to go a little longer between bathroom breaks.

I hope everyone has fun plans for their 4th of July weekend. We are going to explore around here and then start unpacking on Monday. We might go catch some fireworks tonight but we are not sure where yet.

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July!

On the Road Again....32 weeks

Please forgive the awful picture of me but this is what happens when you stick a 8 months pg woman in the car for 9 hours. (plus another 2 days after today)

So we have started our trek to Minnesota today. We are currently in DuBois, PA for the night. The movers took everything from our apartment yesterday. It was a very long but thankfully uneventful day today. Tomorrow we will make it to Chicago. So the big update this week is that I am hoping to make it through the car trip in once piece.

Over the last two weeks I have been getting progressively more uncomfortable. It took me so much effort to roll over to get out of bed the other night that Michael thought I was going into labor. Ooops! LOL Other then that, I have no complaints and everything is going well. It is just so hard to believe that I have 5 weeks from full term and 8 weeks from my due date. Can someone tell me where the time went and how I will manage to have everything ready for Beany before she arrives??
